Kittie Kittie Donates $3,459 for Giving Tuesday!
Thursday December 17th. Baltimore, MD.
This December, we are happy to announce that our next donation of $3,459 to Queen Anne’s County Animals Services! Together with Puppie Love for Giving Tuesday you raised an additional $549 to be included with this donation!
Donations made to the Queen Anne's County Animal Services supports medical procedures that truly give a second chance at life to the beloved animals they care for. A kitten named Tiny is the perfect example of how direct financial contributions and the loving support of members of the community save lives. Read more about his story from QACAS below!
“Tiny came to us as a stray he was just a little skinny, 3-week-old kitten. Tiny was placed in foster care where he gained weight and thrived. At 10 weeks of age Tiny was adopted shortly after being neutered, but sadly, he later returned to the shelter very ill.
Our veterinarian and shelter director ordered a battery of tests and bloodwork, but unfortunately no answers as to why Tiny was declining were revealed. Finally, after exhausting all other options, Tiny had an MRI, and we had a diagnosis! He had been suffering from the "dry" form of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a usually fatal virus (90%+ mortality rate) that affects the nervous system.
After some research, the team found a newly approved treatment protocol in the US that offered hope. Tiny underwent this intense 12-week treatment under the eye of his amazing foster and his veterinary internal specialist.
Tiny made a full recovery and had since been adopted. These lifesaving efforts are not possible without donations to Friends of Queen Anne's County Animal Services. Tiny is just one of many success stories of our community coming together to save animals.”
QACAS was so grateful to learn of the funds you raised for them and we are grateful for the work they do to save all animals in their care!
